PURPOSE: To obtain a bottle having excellent gas barrier property and a ground glasslike appearance, by forming a primer layer on the external surface of a saturated-polyester bottle, forming a resin layer containing a photosensitizer and an inorganic powder on the surface of the resin layer and irradiating the resin layer with ultraviolet rays.
CONSTITUTION: A paint having, as a component, a thermosetting resin selected from an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, a vinyl chloride polymer and the like is coated on the external surface of a bottle having the body made of a biaxially stretched saturated polyester having excellent transparency to form a primer layer. Then, the saturated-polyester bottle of the purpose is obtained by coating the surface of the primer layer with a resin which contains a photosensitizer such as benzoin or benzil, and a silica-based transparent or translucent inorganic material powder and has an ability to form both hard surfaces and transparent films, e.g., acrylic resin, to form a resin layer and irradiating the surface of the resin layer with ultraviolet rays.
