PURPOSE: To obtain a print pattern with high accuracy on a ceramic substrate, etc., by applying the emulsion on both surfaces of a screen net and using a smooth plate member to the wet side of the print surface to obtain a flat surface.

CONSTITUTION: A screen net 2 used for screen plate is made into a net by using vertical and horizontal lines 2b and 2a, and the emulsion is coated on both surfaces of the net 2 to set on a screen frame. With the emulsion 6 coated on the net 2, the depressed and projected parts of the lines 2a and 2b form a print surface. In this case, a flat plastic plate is bonded on the print surface to obtain a flat surface 3b. Then a prescribed print pattern is set, and the screen print is carried out to a ceramic pattern 11 by means of a paste 10. Thus the flat print surface 3b has a correct close touch to the plate 11 to ensure the highly accurate screen print with no depressed and projected parts on the print surface.
