Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. with a residual hydrazine deriv., as little as possible through recovery of the hydrazine deriv. used in excess for possible recycling, by producing a compsn. comprising a specific no. of semicarbazide residues through reaction of a polyisocyanate having a specific no. of NCO residues in a molecule and a hydrazine deriv. in a solvent with a specific b.p. SOLUTION: To produce a compsn. comprising more than two semicarbazide residues on an average in a molecule by reacting a polyisocyanate having more than two NCO residues on an average in a molecule (e.g. a buret-type polyisocyanate of a hexamethylene diisocyanate) and one or more hydrazine derivs., pref. selected from the group consisting of hydrazine anhydrine, hydrazine hydrate, and a 1-10C monoalkyl, monocycloalkyl or monoaryl hydrazine, using a solvent with the b.p. of >=130 deg.C at the normal pressure, pref. a glycol ether-type alcohol (e.g. 2-butoxy ethanol.).
