PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composite semipermeable membrane having excellent permselectivity by allowing an aromatic or alicyclic multifunctional amine to react with a 4-functional acid chlorideon a porous carrier.
CONSTITUTION: An aromatic or alicyclic multifunctional amine having ≥2 primary and secondary amino groups in one molecule, a water-soluble org. polymer having a reactive amino group at the terminal of the molecular chain or on the side chain, at least one kind of 4-functional acid chloride alone selected from the two kinds of compds. shown by the formulas, and an aromatic multifunctional acid chloride having two or three acid chloride groups on ≤3 aromatic rings are mixed and allowed to react with each other to form a cross- linked polymer. An extremely thin membrane layer consisting essentially of the polymer is provided on the porous carrier. The membrane has excellent resistance to hydrolysis, microbes, chemicals, and chlorine and mechanical properties, and the permselectivity is not deteriorated by a change in pH and drying.
