Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently produce the subject compound capable of suppressing functions of T lymphocytes and useful as an immunosuppressant, an antitumor agent or the like by culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Nocardia and producing SF2315A and collecting the SF2315A from the cultured product.
CONSTITUTION: A microorganism belonging to the genus Nocardia and producing SF2315A such as Nocardia mediterranei var. kanglensis 1747-64 strain (FERM BP-3718) is cultured under aerobic conditions and the SF2315A is then collected from the resultant cultured product to afford the objective compound represented by the formula. The daily dose of the SF2315A is preferably within the range of 5-500 mg/kg in the case of oral administration.
