Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce an inexpensive and economical shape steel subjected to controlled rolling excellent in material properties and excellent in fire resistance and toughness by subjecting the molten steel of a specified composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, Mo, N, Al and Fe to titanium deoxidization, casting and, thereafter, to a specified heat treatment and rolling.
CONSTITUTION: Molten steel contg., by weight, 0.04 to 0.20% C, 0.05 to 0.50% Si, 0.4 to 2.0% Mn, 0.3 to 0.7% Mo, 0.003 to 0.015% N and <0.005% Al and furthermore contg., at need, small amounts of V, Cr, Nb, Ni, Cu, Ca and rare earth metals is subjected to prelimary deoxidization and is thereafter subjected to titanium deoxidization. In this way, the content of Ti is regulated to 0.005 to 0.025%, and also, 0.006≤Ti-20≤0.08. This molten steel is cast and is reheated to 1100 to 1300°C, and after that, rolling is started. In the rolling stage, the slab is water-cooled to ≤700°C and is rolled in the process of recuperation between passes. This slab is repeatedly rolled for one or more times and is thereafter cooled to 650 to 400°C at 1 to 30°C/S.
