To improve processibility of a sheet by controlling the quantity of volatile components to be a specified quantity by drying the sheet containing an aqueous condensation resin and a specified quantity of volatile components before application of a lacquer, applying a lacquer containing an acrylic polymer having OH group to cross-link the resin, and drying the resultant coatings as to have a specified amount of the volatile components.
A sheet is pulled out of a roll 1 and passed through a container 2 filled with an aqueous condensation resin such as phenolic resin, melamine- formaldehyde resin. The resultant sheet which is impregnated with the aqueous condensation resin containing about 50wt.% of volatile components is dried at 100-180°C in a drying apparatus 3 to control the quantity of the volatile components to be 8-20wt.%. Then, a lacquer containing an acrylic polymer, a polyurethane polymer, etc., having OH group and to which a cross-linking component to mediate chemical bonding with the aqueous condensation resin of the sheet is added is applied to the resultant sheet in a lacquer coating apparatus 4. After coating with the lacquer, the sheet is dried at 100-180°C in a drying apparatus 5 to control the quantity of the volatile components to be 2-20wt.%.
