Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for readily producing a silane containing a tertiary hydrocarbon group at the α-position such as t-butylsilanes or thexylsilanes.
CONSTITUTION: A Grignard reagent containing a tertiary hydrocarbon group at the α-position such as t-butylmagnesium chloride or thexylmagnesium chloride is reacted with chlorosilane in the presence of a copper halide such as Cul, CrBr, Curl or Li2CuCl3 as a catalyst.
