Title:
PRODUCTION OF SILAS BALLOON HAVING METAL COAT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62153146
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce hollow fine particles having high electric conductivity, by dipping silas balloons in water for a given time, recovering only completely expanded hollow spherical fine particles floating on the water surface putting the fine particles in a bag made of fibers hardly sticking metal plating and dipping the bag in a metal plating solution.

CONSTITUTION: Silas balloons consisting essentially of silica and having very light weight such as 0.2W0.5 bulk specific gravity and several W several hundred μparticle size. Many such silas balloons are first dipped in water for a given time to separate and recover only completely expanded and hollow fine spherical particles floating on the water surface. The separated and recovered completely hollow silas balloons are then put in a bag made of fibers hardly sticking metal plating, e.g. nylon net. The bag is then sufficiently dipped in a metal plating solution to uniformly plate the surfaces of the silas balloons with metal.
