Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a regenerated silk fibroin fiber having a good mechanical strength by respectively specifying a solvent for the silk fibroin, a coagulation bath and a stretch drawing treatment bath.
CONSTITUTION: This method for producing a silk fibroin fiber is to dissolve 10-25wt.% silk fibroin in a solvent prepared by dissolving an alkali metallic halide in an alcohol-rich mixed solvent of a lower aliphatic alcohol/water at a concentration of ≥20wt.% to the saturated concentration and further dissolving an organic compound (iminodiacetic acid, etc.) having the complexing ability therein, spin the resultant dope from an apparatus 1 for spinning through a nozzle block 2 into a coagulation bath 3 and carry out the stretch drawing treatment of the spun yarn with rollers 5, 7 and 9 during the travel thereof through drawing baths 6 and 8 of the lower aliphatic alcohol or its aqueous solution. The coagulation bath is a lower aliphatic alcohol (containing the alkali halide dissolved therein).
