Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a sintered damping material in which a secondary phase is uniformly dispersed into a sintered body after sintering.
CONSTITUTION: Metal powder 1 is subjected to compacting and sintering to compact a sintered body having empty holes 2, and the sintered compact is left as it is in an oxidizing atmosphere in a high temp. state. Air is intruded into the sintered body through the empty holes 2, an oxidized film 4 is formed on the surface of the sintered body of the empty holes 2 and becomes a secondary phase, and a damping effect can be given. Furthermore, the formed damping material is recompressed to increase the contact area of the sintered matrix with oxidized film, by which the damping effect can further be increased.
