Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of through pin holes on a phase of thin film by sintering a green sheet containing mullite particles, specific sintering auxiliary particles and an organic binder.

CONSTITUTION: Mullite particles are blended with sintering auxiliary particles comprising two or more components, having a lower melting point than the melting point of a sintering auxiliary component selected from silica, magnesia, calcia, alumina, yttria, etc., an organic binder (e.g. PVA), a plasticizer (e.g. dioctyl phthalate) and a solvent (e.g. methanol) and molded to give a green sheet, which is sintered to give a ceramic sintered material comprising a mullite phase and a glass phase of the sintering auxiliary of the two or more components.
