Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a sintered zinc sulfide having high density in a short time at a low cost by compression-molding zinc sulfide powder incorporated with a Sr compound and sintering the molded product.
CONSTITUTION: Zinc sulfide powder is incorporated with 0.01-1.0mol% of a Sr compound in terms of Sr and the mixture is granulated and compression- molded under a pressure of 500-1,200kg/cm2 to obtain a formed article. The article is sintered at ≥900°C in an inert or reducing atmosphere.
