Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain homogeneous slaked lime by collecting fine particles from slaked material during the transfer from a slaking process to an aging process, measuring the water content of the particles and controlling the amount of water for slaking based on the water content.
CONSTITUTION: Quick lime and slaking water are supplied from feeding means 1, 2 to a sinking apparatus 3 and the lime is slaked to obtain slaked material. The slaked material is supplied to a vibrating screen 51 through a screw conveyor 52 placed at the outlet of the slaking apparatus 3, fine particles passed through the screen 51 are received on a turntable 62, the thickness of the particle layer is leveled with a barrier plate 63 and the water content is measured by an infrared moisture meter 61. The amount of slaking water to be supplied to the slaking apparatus 3 is controlled according to the measured water content.
