Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject material having white color, dense texture and improved sliding properties by specifically selecting a TiO2-BaO-MgO raw material composed of TiO2 phase, Ba2Ti9O20.2MgTi2O5 phase and MgTi2O5 phase, calcining the raw material and hot-pressing the calcined product under hydrostatic pressure under a specific condition.

CONSTITUTION: A TiO2-BaO-MgO raw material is selected and calcined in air to obtain a calcined product composed of ≥20% of Ba2Ti9O20.2MgTi2O5 phase and remaining parts of TiO2 phase and MgTi2O5 phase. The calcined product is hot-pressed under hydrostatic pressure of ≥800kg/cm2 at ≥1150°C in a gaseous atmosphere consisting of a mixture of an inert gas and ≥2% of O2.
