Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a sliding member sealing pores on the coating face side of a base material in an early stage and allowing a coating material functioning as a sliding layer to remain on the coating face of the base material.
CONSTITUTION: A base material 1 constituted of a ferrous green compact to form a synchronizer ring or the like is used, and a Cu-Ni-Mn powdery coating material 2 is mounted on the coating face 1k of the base material 1. In this state, it is held under heating to the sintering temp. range of the base material 1, and the base material 1 is sintered. At the time of the sintering, the coating material 2 is converted into a molten soln. Even in the case it is held under the sintering temp. range without positively executing cooling, the solidus temp. of the molten soln. gradually increases by the reaction with the base material 1, and it is naturally solidified.
