Abstract:

To provide a quickly-acting snow melting agent free from water and having high solubility.

This snow melting agent (10) can be produced by baking (2) magnesium hydroxide [Mg(OH)2] or magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) (1) to form fine particles (6) of magnesium oxide, mixing and reacting (7) the fine powder (6) with acetic acid by a kneader and granulating the obtained magnesium acetate (8) (MA) with a granulator (9). A liquid snow melting agent (10a) is produced by dissolving the magnesium acetate (MA) in water to obtain an aqueous solution (9a) having a concentration of 20-50%.
