To easily produce a spiral wire in a large amt. and to make the pitch, size, etc. of spirals easily changeable by forming a working hole of a die eccentrically with respect to the wire.
The wire 1 drawn out of a wire supply drum 10 is inserted through the working hole 3 existing at the position eccentric from the center 20 of rotation and is mounted at a take-up drum 19. A drive motor 15 and the take-up drum 19 are then rotated. Since the wire 1 rotates around the center 20 of rotation together with the working hole 3 of the die 2, the wire 1 is bent and is spirally formed in the outlet part of the working hole 3. The spiral wire 1a emerging from the die 2 is taken up on the take-up drum 19. If the eccentricity quantity of the working hole 3 is large and the take-up speed is slow, the wire 1a strongly formed with the spirals is obtd. If the eccentricity quantity is small and the take-up speed is fast, the wire 1a weakly formed with the spirals is obtd. Namely the arbitrary determination of the spiral state is made possible by regulating the eccentricity quantity and the take-up speed.
