Title:
PRODUCTION OF SPUN-LIKE FUSED YARN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5477718
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Polyester undrawn yarns that are reduced in intrinsic viscosity by adding the third component are subjected to drawing and false-twisting together with other polyester undrawn yarns with other characteristics to impart antifrosting properties without any adverse effect on antipilling properties.

CONSTITUTION: (A) undrawn yarns of polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate containing preferably 1W10 mole% of the third component as isophthalic acid and (B) other polyester undrawn yarns whose optical birefringence (Δn) is below 15 × 10-3 and 2W6 × 10-3 higher than that of yarns (A) are simultaneously subjected to drawing and false twisting under heating, thereby fusing filaments and forming fluffs by breaking partially yarns (A) to obtain said spun-like fused yarns.

EFFECT: Uniform fluffing occurs.
