Title:
PRODUCTION OF STEEL SHEET FOR CONTAINER HAVING EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE AND WELDABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS613886
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a steel sheet for a container having excellent corrosion resistance and weldability by subjecting the surface of the steel sheet to underlying plating of an alloy steel contg. an adequate amt. of P or Mo at an adequate coating weight and plating Sn thereon and further subjecting the surface to a chromate film treatment.

CONSTITUTION: The surface of the steel sheet is cleaned and activated and is then subjected to the underlying plating of an Fe-P, Fe-Mo or Fe-P-Mo alloy contg. 1W60%, more preferably about 3W50% P and/or Mo at a coating weight of about 3W300mg/m2, more preferably about 10W200mg/m2 per side. The above- mentioned underlying plating is executed by an electroplating, chemical plating or thermal diffusion treatment method. Sn is then plated on the underlying plating at ≥300mg/m2 per side or after the steel sheet is subjected further to a heating and melting treatment at about 240W350°C, the surface thereof is subjected to the chromate film treatment by using a mixed soln. of chromic anhydride, SO4-2 ion, etc., by which the steel sheet for a container suitable for a food can, etc. is obtd.
