Abstract:

PURPOSE: To minimize reduction in tensile strength and to obtain a steel wire excellent in ductility by subjecting a wire rod having a steel composition in which respective contents of C, Si, Mn, Al, Cu, and Fe are specified to wiredrawing and then applying precipitation treatment to the resulting wire under the prescribed conditions.

CONSTITUTION: A steel having a composition consisting of ≤0.01% C, ≤0.05% Si, 0.1-0.3% Mn, 0.01-0.04% Al, 0.1-0.3% Cu, and the balance Fe is refined. Then, a wire rod of this steel is wiredrawn to the prescribed wire diameter. Subsequently, precipitation treatment is carried out at 450-670°C for 5-10min.
