Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain in high catalytic efficiency a styrene-based polymer with highly syndiotactic structure having desired molecular weight or molecular weight distribution. CONSTITUTION:The objective styrene-based polymer with highly syndiotactic structure can be obtained by using a catalyst, a combination of (A) a coordinated complex compound composed of cation and anion with plural groups bound to metal or an aluminoxane and (B) at least one kind of transition metal compound selected, as the case may be, from those each having a ligand bearing at least one pi-bond and another ligand bearing at least one sigma-bond, using, as indicator, the chemical shift of the <13>C-NMR for the carbon atom of the methoxy group resultant from the methoxylation of the latter ligand.
