Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a substance having an improving effect for liver diseases by extracting mycelia or fruit bodies of MAITAKE (a kind of mushrooms which belongs to Grifola) with hot water or with hot water, alcohol and ether.
CONSTITUTION: Mycelium or fruit bodies of MAITAKE are extracted with hot water or with hot water, alcohol and ether to obtain a substance having an improving effect for liver diseases. Mycelia or fruit bodies of MAITAKE are preferably powdery ones. The substance has an effect improving GOT and GPT value for acute hepatitis and chronic hepatitis by oral administration.
