Abstract:
PURPOSE:To safely carry out electrophoresis by high voltage, to facilitate the control of a bath, and to improve the working environment by using a ketonic solvent having specified m.p., flash point, and b.p. as the solvent. CONSTITUTION:The superconductor raw material is calcined or sintered, then crushed, dispersed in the solvent along with a charging agent, and electrodeposited on a electrode to produce superconductors of various shapes. In this method, a ketonic solvent having >=0 deg.C m.p., >=-5 deg.C flash point, and >=75 deg.C b.p. is used as the solvent. Since the oxide-based superconductor is produced in the solvent by electrodeposition at 10-60 deg.C bath temp., considerably fluidity is imparted to the bath at >=0 deg.C m.p. When the flash point is controlled to >=-5 deg.C, the difference from the lower-limit bath temp. is decreased, and the danger of ignition is reduced. Since the solvent has the b.p. of >=75 deg.C which is higher than the upper limit of the bath temp., vaporization is reduced, the bath composition is not changed, and the environment is not deteriorated.
