PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a large wave having uniform irregularities easily on the surface of an aluminum plate by bringing the aluminum plate into contact with an etching liquid in a local space defined between the irregularities on the surface of a supporting roller and the aluminum plate.
SOLUTION: Irregularities 21 are formed on the surface of a supporting roller 20 while arranging the height of top part and an aluminum plate 10 is substantially brought into contact with the top point of irregularities 21 formed on the surface of the supporting roller 20 in the contact region. An etching liquid 40 fed from an etching liquid supply means 30 is held in the recesses of the irregularities 21 and then fed to the contact region of the aluminum plate 10 and the supporting roller 20. More specifically, in the contact region of the aluminum plate 10 and the supporting roller 20, the aluminum plate 10 locally comes into contact with the etching liquid 40 through the recesses of the supporting roller 20 and a recess having arranged shape, i.e., a large wave, is formed at a specified position on the surface of the aluminum plate 10.
