To enhance productive efficiency by preventing losses in making adjustments for assembling replacement parts if defective parts are detected at the production line, etc., of a product consisting of a plurality of parts, while making man hours for this as small as possible.
The part code of a defective part (e.g., lower hose) detected at a motor vehicle assembly line is sent from the terminal 6 of the line to the work station of an inspection section and input (S1). Using the work station, follow-up simulations are carried out to simulate an operation whereby workers add a replacement part for the defective part to a vehicle (step S4, S5). On viewing an image of the simulations displayed, an operator determines parts that might be obtrusive to the operation and makes operational inputs, while unnecessary parts for assembly are determined at the production line (step S6).
