Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title copolymer imparting a molded product showing high transparency, flexibility, tensile strength and surface gloss by polymerizing a large amt. of propylene and a small amt. of ethylene or specific olefin in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a metallocene and an aluminoxane.
CONSTITUTION: 50-99.5 wt.% of propylene and 0.5-50 wt.% of a compd. selected from ethylene and 4- or more C olefin represented by formula I (Ra and Rb are each H or 1-20C alkyl, etc.), are polymerized at -40-50°C under a pressure of 0.5-100 bar in a soln., a suspension or a gas phase in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a metallocene being a transition metal component and an aluminoxane represented by formula II in regard to a linear type and/or represented by formula III (R9 is 1-6C alkyl, etc.), in regard with a cyclic type to obtain the title copolymer. The transition metal component is a compd. represented by formula IV (M1 is Ti or Zr, etc.; R1 and R2 are each H, halogen or 1-10C alkyl, etc.; R3 and R4 are each a mononuclear or polynuclear hydrocarbon residue; R5 is groups represented by formulae V, VI, etc.; R6 and R7 are each H or halogen, etc., and M2 is Si, Ge or Sn).
