To uniformly decompose substances deposited on a synthetic yarn treating apparatus, to remove the substances, to prevent the occurrence of end breakage and fluff and to reduce the frequency of stop machine, by irradiating the surface of the synthetic yarn treating apparatus of a synthetic yarn producing apparatus with ultraviolet light.
The surface of a synthetic yarn treating apparatus such as a spinning apparatus, a drawing and heat-treating apparatus, a bulky processing apparatus or the like is irradiated with ultraviolet light at <400 nm by an ultraviolet rays irradiating apparatus including an ultraviolet light lamp 5. The ultraviolet light lamp 5 is installed between rollers of Nelson rollers as third drawing rollers 3 among a first to a third drawing rollers 1 to 3 of the drawing and heat-treating apparatus and the drawing and heat-treating apparatus is irradiated with ultraviolet rays at 254 nm maximum wavelength from a distance of about 10 cm from a low-pressure mercury-vapor lamp with 11 W output to give a result that a deposit is hardly observed even after heat treatment for ≥6 hours.
