Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the long run operation of a fluidized chlorination furnace for producing tetra chloro titanium.
CONSTITUTION: A titanium contained raw material containing phosphorus is chlorinated to form a coated film on the surface of a lining in contact with the fluidization reaction region while feeding air, in which moisture is previously removed, from plural feeding holes provided through a furnace wall 4 in contact with the fluidization reaction region of the fluidized chlorination furnace 2 substantially lined with refractories mainly containing alumina on the inner side of a metal made vessel 1.
