Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for easily producing a thermoplastic resin foam having a high expansion ratio.
CONSTITUTION: In the production of a thermoplastic resin foam by a method wherein an inert gas is incorporated in the thermoplastic resin under pressure and this resin is extruded by an extruding machine under normal pressure and then allowed to expand or the extruded resin is heated to expand, a thermoplastic resin 2 higher in viscosity than an inert gas containing resin 1 is fed along the periphery of a passage of the resin 1 from a die 10 mounted on the extruding machine or part between the die and the end part of a screw, thereby forming a surface resin layer 4.
