To obtain a thermoplastic resin excellent in weatherability, slidability, wear resistance and impact resistance etc. by graft polymerization of vinyl monomer(s) in the presence of a specific polyorganosiloxane using a specific initiator.
This thermoplastic resin is obtained by graft polymerization of (B) vinyl monomer(s) in the presence of (A) a polyorganosiloxane prepared by condensing an organosiloxane (pref. having a cyclic structure such as hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane) having structural unit of the formula R1nSiO(4-n)/2 (R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon; (n) is 0-3) using (C) an initiator consisting of an organic peroxide (pref. a peroxy ester-based one such as t-butyl peroxyneodecanoate) capable of forming an organic radical of the formula (R2-R4 are each H or a 1-10C alkyl) by decomposition. It is preferable that the component B consist of 65-75wt.% of styrene and 35-25wt.% of acrylonitrile.
