PURPOSE: To obtain a method for simply producing a three-dimensional embroidery excellent in beautiful appearance.

CONSTITUTION: A piece of expanded polystyrene 20 is superposed on base fabric 10 to form an embroidery pattern on the piece of the expanded polystyrene 20 with embroidery threads 31. When the embroidery pattern is formed, the part of the expanded polystyrene 20 uncovered with the embroidery threads 31 is parted and removed. Trichloroethylene capable of dissolving the expanded polystyrene is then applied to the outer peripheral edges of the embroidery threads 31. Thereby, the expanded polystyrene 20 exposed from interstices between the embroidery threads 31 is removed to provide a state in which the expanded polystyrene 20 is not exposed from the interstices between the embroidery threads 31.
