PURPOSE: To facilitate control of weave width of three-dimensional fabric by inserting rigid selvage rod into turn-up loop of wefts in two directions at near fell of the fabric and controlling the weave width of three-dimensional fabric.
CONSTITUTION: In upward of heald 2 in which many warp guide pipes 1 set in a fixed pitch longer than interval of warp Z in a three-dimensional fabric F, rigid selvage rod is guided to a position of fell of the fabric in loops in a part of turn-up of each weft x and y at the time of insert of 1st weft x and 2nd weft y (not shown in the figure) by weft inserting tools 3a and 3b (not shown in the figure), then a selvage-treating and weave width control device 4 is provided performing an action of keeping each selvage rod in each arranged interval at fell of the fabric until fixed number of layers at least respective wefts x and y are woven are formed and guiding upward.
