PURPOSE: To product a suitable composition of an ingot having a little inclusion, which uses Ti alloy scrap as raw material, by manufacturing a melting electrode material while adjusting Al content in this scrap, melting this with electron beam cold hearth remelting method and casting to the ingot.
CONSTITUTION: As molten metal dripped into the cold hearth 2 is exposed in vacuum till over-flowing, the inclusion in the molten metal, which is caused to reusing limit of the scrap, is decomposed and removed on this cold hearth 2. At this time, a part of Al material in the melting electrode constitution is volatilized, but as Al corresponding to 10-100% of the aimed Al content is beforehand excessively contained in the melting electrode 5, the necessary Al is remained under condition of volatilized quantity, and the composition of Al-containing Ti allay can be suitably adjusted. Therefore, removal of the impurity and diffusing action of alloy component are executed in the cold hearth 2 and the ingot 9 having high purity and a little segregation and excellent mechanical property, is obtd.
