Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I [wherein R is R4CO and R2 is a group represented by formula II or R1 and R2 are combined to form a group represented by formula III].
EXAMPLE: α-O-cellobiosyl.trichloroacetoimidate.heptaacetate.
USE: A therapeutic agent of hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis.
PROCESS: Cellobiose heptaalkanoate represented by formula IV and trichloroacetonitrile are reacted in the presence of a catalytic amt. of cesium carbonate in a reaction inert solvent at the circumferential temp. or temp. in the vicinity thereof to obtain a compd. represented by formula I (wherein the group R2 is represented by formula II).
