Abstract:

To produce a tilting-or traction lever for valve control of an internal combustion engine consisting of aluminum or aluminum alloy by a casting method.

This lever is produced by vacuum-pressure casting, thixocasting or squeeze casting and is hardened in some cases. As a result, the structure which has substantially no pores at fewer inclusion frequencies as compared to an ordinary aluminum casting is produced and, therefore, improved mechanical properties are generated.
