PURPOSE: To provide the method to produce a titanium clad steel sheet excellent in joining strength.

CONSTITUTION: A stock assembly consisting of a base material 1 of a low carbon steel sheet containing 0.007wt.% carbon, titanium cladding material 2 and dummy material 3 containing ≥0.15wt.% carbon is subjected to hot rolling. Also, a stock assembly consisting of two sets of clad steel materials made of the base material 1/caldding material 2 and an peeling material 5 made of alumina/titanium sandwiched between both cladding materials is subjected to hot rolling. In this way, a titanium clad steel sheet excellent in joining strength is produced without using an insert material. Further, a titanium clad steel sheet and carbon steel are simultaneously produced from one stock assembly. Also, two sheets of titanium clad steel sheet are simultaneously produced from one stock assembly.
