Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a powder made of toner particles simultaneously satisfying low-temp. fixability, heat resistance and shelf stability.

CONSTITUTION: A soln. of a colorant-contg. anionic self-water-dispersible resin in an org. solvent is mixed with water, particles are formed in the water by phase inversion emulsification and they are separated and dried to produce the objective toner. Self-water-dispersible acrylic resin obtd. by neutralizing anionic acrylic resin having 30-80mgKOH/g acid value as a copolymer obtd. by polymerizing (meth)1-acrylic ester and acrylic acid as essential components is used as the anionic self-water-dispersible resin.
