To provide a production and transfer facility for large machinery for shortening the transfer time thereof between assembly processes inside a building where the assembly processes of the large machinery is performed on a U-shaped line.

The facility includes: a first moving carriage A capable of mounting the large machinery; first moving mechanisms 11-14, and 21-24 for moving the first moving carriage A; a second moving carriage B capable of mounting the first moving carriage A moved by the first moving mechanisms 11-14, and 21-24, and movably supported by an air bearing 26; an elevation base 30 capable of mounting the second moving carriage B on the elevation base surface and in which the elevation base surface moves up and down between the lowest position of the elevation base surface such that the position of the upper surface of the second moving carriage B is flush with the floor surface, and the highest position of the elevation base surface such that the position of the elevation base surface is flush with the floor surface; a second moving mechanism 26 moving the second moving carriage B with the elevation base surface of the elevation base 30 in the highest position; and a guide rail 40 guiding the second moving carriage B along a predetermined path.
