PURPOSE: To produce a tray for sintering which has good workability, and good fluidity of gases by making mixed slurries of inorg. ceramic powder and cellulose pulp to sheets by a paper making method, laminating a proper number of sheets and heating the laminated sheets.
CONSTITUTION: Pulp of wood, etc. is used as a raw material and is beaten in water, whereby free cellulose pulp is produced. A proper amt. of inorg. ceramic powder is added thereto as a filler and mixed slurries are prepd. The mixed slurries incorporated with sizing colloidal materials, sealers and coloring agents according to need are used as ready mixed paper stock, and this stock is made into sheets by paper machines. Many sheets of such paper are laminated and the laminates are folded or plied to suitable tray shapes. The trays are held for several minutes W several tens minutes at about 1,000W1,200°C in a high temp. furnace to scatter the cellulose pulp thoroughly and to allow the sintered body of the inorg. ceramic powder to remain. Thus the tray for sintering having high air permeability is obtained.
