Title:
PRODUCTION OF TURBINE NOZZLE DIAPHRAGM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP59206181
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a titled part having less welding defects in a good yield by sticking nozzle vanes between two spacers then attaching an inner ring and an outer ring by shrinkage fit to the inside or outside of the respective spacers and welding the two fitting surfaces by an electron beam.

CONSTITUTION: An integral toric spacer 5 stuck to nozzle vanes 3 is thermally expanded to have a margin for shinkage fit and is fitted to the outside of an integral toric inner ring 2, thereby forming a uniform contact surface having zero groove gap 7. An outer ring 1 having a margin for shrinkage fit is thermally expanded and fitted to the outside of a spacer 4. The ring 1, the ring 2 and the spacers 4, 5 are thus fitted with the uniform contact surfaces having zero groove gaps 8, 7. An electron beam 9 is irradiated to the gaps 7, 8 from both sides of the contact surfaces to weld respectively the rings 2, 1 and the spacers 5, 4.
