Title:
PRODUCTION OF VANADIUM (III) SULFATE AND ITS SULFURIC ACID AQUEOUS SOLUTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3955130
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing vanadium (III) sulfate by a simple method and to provide a production method of a sulfuric acid aq. soln. of the vanadium (III) sulfate appropriately usable as an electrolytic soln., etc., of a vanadium redox flow cell by dissolving the vanadium (III) sulfate obtained by this method.
SOLUTION: In the production method of the vanadium (III) sulfate, vanadium (III) oxide is heated to 140-260°C in the sulfuric acid having ≥80% concn., then the formed solid vanadium (III) sulfate is recovered from a reaction soln. In the production method of the sulfuric acid aq. soln. of the vanadium (III) sulfate, the vanadium (III) sulfate obtained by this production method is heated in the sulfuric acid aq. soln. having 5-50% concn. to be dissolved.
