PURPOSE: To obtain high-quality vegetable oil being low in both of phospholipid and acid valve, capable of increasing a raw material treating amount of an oil press without worsening extraction efficiency by previously feeding fine powder returned to the oil press by a specific method.
CONSTITUTION: Oil seeds such as sesame or a raw material obtained by subjecting the oil seeds to rolling and/or cooking treatment is squeezed, preferably at a raw material temperature of 90-110°C and the pressed oil discharged from an oil press (e.g. a twin-screw extruder) is subjected to solid-liquid separation treatment. Then, fine powder obtained by solid-liquid separation of the pressed oil is preliminarily extracted with a solvent (preferably hexane) or a solvent containing the objective vegetable oil, preferably at an extracting temperature of 20-70°C. The extracted mixture is charged into an extracting machine (e.g. Desmet type extracting machine) together with the pressed residue to extract the mixture with the solvent and the extracted oil is mixed with the pressed oil after the solid-liquid separation. Furthermore, when hexane is used as a solvent for extraction, the extraction temperature is preferably 50-65°C and the extraction time is preferably 30-90min.
