Abstract:
To improve the productivity of a ventilated disk for a brake made of a metallic matrix composite material.
Pins for holes as cast 76,... are inserted into a cavity 62 in a metallic mold in a radial direction from the outside of the metallic mold, and the fluid material 57 consisting of the metallic matrix composite material containing alumina is filled into the cavity 62. The pins for holes as cast 76,... are embedded in the fluid material 57, and after the solidification of this fluid material 57, the pins for holes as cast 76,... are pulled out from the cavity 62 to form the ventilated disk provided with blasting holes for cooling in the radial direction.
