Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce washable chamois leather-like composite cloth having heat resistance and highly water absorbing properties.
CONSTITUTION: Water absorbing leather powder wherein a side-chain amino group in collagen is partially replaced with a carboxyl group by succinylation and the rest of the amino group is modified with glutaraldehyde is dispersed into a solution of a polyurethane elastomer in dimethyl formamide, which is as a processing solution impregnated into and fixed to cotton cloth.
