Abstract:
To provide a water-absorbing resin having excellent performances of absorbing water under pressure and stably having high performances.
The process for producing a water-absorbing resin the part near the surface of which is cross-linked by reacting water-absorbing resin particles having carboxylic acid groups and carboxylate groups by treatment with a cross-linking agent comprises cross-linking in the presence of an organic solvent having a relative permittivity by using a polygolycidyl compound having three or more glycidyl groups as the cross-linking agent and controlling the amount of the water used at 1-8% based on the water-absorbing resin particles.
