Title:
PRODUCTION OF WATER-BASE FLUORORESIN DISPERSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3482710
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a water-base fluororesin dispersion having a high stability and low foaming properties without using a surfactant by polymerizing a perfluoroalkylated ethylenically unsatd. monomer in an aq. medium in the presence of a specified amt. of a specific polyurethane resin.
CONSTITUTION: A monomer component in an amount of 100 pts.wt. comprising a perfluoroalkylated ethylenically unsatd. monomer [e.g. CF3(CF2)7CH2CH2OCOC (CH3)=CH2-] or a mixture thereof with another ethylenically unsatd. monomer copolymerizable therewith is polymerized in an aq. medium in the presence of 20-300 pts.wt. polyurethane resin having a hydrophilic group content of 0.03-0.1 equivalent based on 100 pts.wt. solid resin (e.g. carboxylate-group-contg. resin obtd. by reacting a 1,4-butanediol-adipic acid polyester, 1,4-butanediol, dimethylolpropionic acid, and isophorone diisocyanate and reacting the resultant NCO-terminated prepolymer with hexamethylenediamine).
