Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject yarn having a light color tone, a high knot strength and excellent water absorption, suitable as a substituent for blond hair, light-colored animal hair, or the like, by treating a regenerated collagen yarn with a water insolubilizing agent containing a monofunctional epoxy compound.
SOLUTION: A regenerated collagen yarn is treated with a water insolubilizing agent containing a monofunctional epoxy compound of formula I [R is R1, R2-OCH2, R2-COOCH2 (R1 is a ≥2C hydrocarbon or CH2Cl; R2 is a ≥4C hydrocarbon)] (the amount of the compound used is preferably 1-50 equivalent based on 1 equivalent of amino group in the regenerated collagen yarn) to give a water insolubilized regenerated collagen yarn. The regenerated collagen yarn is treated with a water insolubilizing agent containing an epihalohydrin and a sulfur compound to produce a water insolubilized regenerated collagen yarn. Otherwise, the water insolubilized regenerated collagen is amidated with a diamine (salt) of formula II (n) is 1-4) or a diamine of formula III (R1 and R2 are each a 1-4C alkyl or the like) in the presence of a condensation agent to produce a water insolubilized regenerated collagen yarn.
