Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject water suspension having a low viscosity and small particle diameter, by reacting a molten higher fatty acid with zinc oxide in the presence of a surfactant under stirring and using a wet direct precipitation method.
CONSTITUTION: This water suspension is obtained by adding a molten higher fatty acid (preferably, myristic acid, palmitic acid or stearic acid) into the water with suspended zinc oxide, in the presence of a surfactant (preferably cationic, anionic or nonionic type, e.g. oxalic acid salt of stearic acid triethanolamine ester, etc.) for reacting the higher fatty acid with zinc oxide under stirring.
