Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a wear resistant member excellent in wear resistance and seizing resistance only by executing chromium cemmentation treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of parts made of a ferritic-pearlitic medium-high carbon vanadium-added non-refining steel contg. ≤0.020wt.% S is subjected to chromium cemmentation treatment. Since the chromium cemmentation treatment is executed in such a manner that the ordinary contents of S contained in the ferritic-pearlitic medium-high carbon vanadium-added non-refining steel are regulated to 0.035 to 0.020%, deteriorations is the ferrite nucleus operation of MnS+VN and in its hardenability are suppressed, and the ferrite strengthening operation by the fine precipitation of vanadium carbon nitrides into ferrite is increased. Thus, the softening of that immediately below the hardened surface layer caused by the chromium cemmentation treatment is suppressed, by which the member excellent in wear resistance can be obtd.
